Zhu Shimao, born in Yantai City, Shandong Province on March 28, 1954, is an actor, sketch actor and director of film and television in mainland China.
In 1970, he joined the Chinese people's Liberation Army and served as a drama actor of Fuzhou military region. In 1975, director Shui Hua of Beijing Film Studio chose Zhu Shimao to play Fu Hailong in the children of Xisha, and he stepped into the film world from then on. In 1983, he was officially transferred to the actors' troupe of Bayi studio. In 1987, he shot the first lesson of the Yangtze River and won the Flying Star Award.
In the 1990s, Zhu Shimao cooperated with comedian Chen Peisi to perform sketches on CCTV Spring Festival gala for many times. Among them, "chi mian tiao" and "yang rou chuan" were well received by the audience. People gave him the nickname "Lao Mao er".
